A watch is a device and accessory widely used on the wrist, which helps us to know the time. Wrist watches have been developing since the seventeenth century. You can find watches of all kinds, from very cheap, made based on plastic to expensive, which are made with precious stones.
Today, modern watches have additional utilities such as GPS, heart rate meter, alarm, stopwatch, moon phase display, calculator, barometer, altimeter, calendar, waterproof, among other functions.
It is important to note that there are basically 3 types of watches
- The analog s: they only have hands or needles
- Digitals : you have only numbers to read on your screen
- Mixed : they are a mix between analog and digital clocks.
Among the most important watch companies we find Patek Philippe, Blancpain, Jaeger-LeCoultre, which are considered as luxury brands; Omega, TAG Heuer, Sinn, Breitling, Panerai and Rolex, which stand out for creating robust and reliable watches for sports and aviation; and brands like Casio, Timex, and Seiko, specializing in watches as affordable all-in-ones.

How did the wristwatch come about?
At first, the most used were pocket watches . Those that had a chain, to be able to adjust them and not lose them at the first change. It was the airplane pilots who also had to tie this type of watch to their legs or arms, but always above their suit. This way they could go calculating the distance and the fuel that was used in the trips.
For this reason, little by little the clock took on new sizes and shapes. All this, to make our life and work more comfortable.
